Incredible Modern Furniture

There are amazing pieces of modern furniture around campus.  Here are some of my favorites:

Ludwig Mies van der Rohe Barcelona Chair.  I love these chairs.  This room doesn't do much for me.  I like the concept of having a "reading room" in a central part of the library.  However, the room is not welcoming.  The positioning of the chairs, tables, rugs don't allow for conversation or seclusion.

Saarinen Table and Chairs.  These tables and chairs have seen better days.  I am also very concerned that 5 of the 8 chairs are missing.  Does anyone know what happened to them?

Landscape Architecture

I think that "the grounds" at SIU have such potential.  There are pockets of decent landscape design here and there and the SIU grounds crew does a good job keeping things up.  The one place where things actually come together (mostly) is the Kamakura Japanese Garden / Dorothy Morris Garden / Sculpture Garden.   I like the meandering path which simultaneously limits and expands your vision as you walk.
